Remote site replication with Microsoft Distributed File System
Why use Microsoft DFS
The ABC-Deploy installation sources, status data etc. must reside on a shared
location on the network, where every managed clients must have access.
The shared location might be a traditional Windows share, but if you descide to
locate the system on a DFS share, you will benefit from a range of
advantages
One of those will be the ability to allow your software library to grow
dymanically in size, which it is very likely to do over time
Another important issue is that if you are to support a distributed
environment, possibly over slower WAN lines, you will be able to ensure your
remote clients as good and stable a nework performance as if they were located
in HQ
With DFS you clients will always get its deployment ressources from the Windows
server best suited to provide data to the present location of the client
computer
